-- Presoaking carpet adhesive

It a good idea to presoaking carpet adhesive when it comes to removal.

Most yellow and white carpet adhesives on the market are water-based. If you presoak the material, you will rehydrate the adhesive which create swelling.

As the material swells, it can debond itself from the concrete. And it is easier for you to remove the material on the concrete floor surface.

Certainly, you should note that only use enough water to soak in and rehydrate for the reason that too much water will lead to the material spread on the floor surface and dry. So use just enough water to gather the material in small chunks after scraping.

Presoaking carpet adhesive has another benefit. It will keep the diamond tool cooler and reduce smearing.

Some carpet adhesives are green or blue which are likely epoxy-based or urethane-based. In this case you should play sand instead of water.
